Why yoga is so good for you
In our fast-paced and restless world, we increasingly feel the need for peace and balance – yoga gives us just that. The word yoga comes from Sanskrit and means unity. The aim of yoga practice is to unite body and mind. This is because the holistic practice works on a physical as well as a spiritual and mental level. The mixture of flowing movements and soothing stretches releases tension and strengthens the whole body. The yoga postures (asanas) are often combined and synchronised with meditations and breathing techniques (pranayama).

A regular yoga practice and meditation lead to more peace and serenity in everyday life. Both practices can be used individually, but often meditation is part of the yoga practice. Yoga classes are often introduced with a short meditation. This helps to prepare for the upcoming session, to collect oneself and to calm down. Most yoga classes also end with a final relaxation of about 10 minutes – the so-called savasana.

Yoga for beginners: Which yoga style is right for you?
You want to try yoga, but wonder which style is right for you? As a yoga beginner, the many complex yoga poses can seem intimidating.

Yoga can be dynamic and strenuous and make you sweat. But yoga can also be relaxing, meditative and spiritual. It’s best to try different types of yoga and then decide for yourself which one suits your needs. Do you like it more dynamic? Then perhaps Vinyasa yoga is right for you. If you’re looking for a calm and gentle practice, yin yoga might be a better option.

First and foremost, yoga helps you to become more relaxed and calm. This is achieved by consciously combining breathing and movement. The longer and more often you practise yoga, the more intense and complex these movements can become. However, this is not a must. The important thing is that you feel comfortable during the yoga class and only go as far as is good for you.

Yoga retreats – pure relaxation!
Are you wondering where you can learn and practise yoga? Or are you specifically looking for time out to do something good for your body and mind? Then maybe a yoga retreat is the right thing for you! Discover beautiful places and improve your wellbeing at the same time.

Yoga retreats are guided and organised trips with a focus on yoga. They can last from a few days to one or two weeks. The focus is on the daily practice of yoga. With a small group of travellers, for example, you practise yoga two or more times a day – usually always in the morning and evening. The focus is on relaxation and deceleration. There are different types of yoga retreats. How about a yoga meditation retreat, a yoga detox retreat or a yoga walking retreat?

Yoga retreat – itinerary
Surrounded by woods and meadows or right by the sea, you start the day with an energetic yoga session. After a well-balanced breakfast, you will be given enough time to organise your day yourself. Would you like to explore the nearby village, go hiking or spend the day at the beach? All this is possible on a yoga retreat!

Yoga retreats are organised for solo travellers, for beginners or for women only – you just have to find the one that suits you. Leave stress and worries behind and learn to live in harmony with yourself again. A yoga holiday works wonders and is a gift for your whole being.

Yoga workshops – time out from everyday life
You can’t take a whole week off for a yoga retreat? No problem!

At a yoga workshop you have enough time for yourself and your yoga practice, despite work and family. Yoga workshops are more condensed and more intensive than retreats, they cover a few days, often over the weekend, of yoga practice.
Yoga workshops are more condensed and intensive than retreats, they deal with a specific yoga topic over a few days, often over the weekend. For example, find your way into yoga practice as a beginner, connect with like-minded people at a yoga cocoa ceremony or get to know different breathing techniques.
